Cookbook author Marley Chambers can’t think of a more festive way to spend Christmas than at a friend’s holiday wedding in her hometown of Magnolia Bay. If only her soon-to-be ex-husband, all-star pitcher, Beckett “Beck” Chambers wasn’t bringing his new girlfriend—and if only he wasn’t still the sexiest man to ever walk out onto the mound…

Beck never wanted the chaotic life of a sport star—especially not at the cost of his marriage to the only woman he’s ever truly loved. But his career is a runaway train—and he’s afraid it’s too late to hit the brakes.

But when a mix-up leaves Beck and Marley stranded together for Christmas Eve on the barrier island where Beck proposed years before, old memories burn bright—and sparks fly hotter than a bonfire on the beach.

Could the magic of the season bring the gift of a second chance, just in time for Christmas?

A Very Married Christmas Loveless and Dunn Series Book 4 edition by Erika Marks Literature Fiction eBooks

This is a standalone read with a HEA. It is #4 in the series. Set in the same town but with different characters. This young couple is near the end of their marriage and the divorce proceedings are about over. They have been married for 10 years. The hero is a pro baseball player. He is sort of the stereotype athlete, full of himself and a huge ego. His wife, the heroine of the story is just now finding herself and where she fits in with the world. He resents her not being his everything and wanting to venture out to find her own success. So, she decides enough is enough and she files for divorce.

They have both returned to their small home town of Magnolia Bay for the wedding of their dear friends and old classmates. He shows up with a young trophy on his arm, she is a very respected journalist on TV. She is very much a career woman and that career comes first. She is the very thing he and his wife separated over. The heroine shows up with her best friend Gina. Of course there is tension and emotions that get out of control at times.

There is a bit of drama before these two sit down and actually tell the other how they feel and have felt. Always a good thing in a relationship of any kind but doesn't usually happen!! Their journey is interesting and a little bit on the serious side but it is good and holds your attention. I started reading at midnight and read until 2:30 to finish. It is a good story and I definitely recommend it. I read some of the negative reviews and each is definitely entitled to their opinion but I believe they missed the whole point of the story. I thought the characters developed and for the better. Sometimes it takes something drastic to wake a person up to what they are losing. Good read in my opinion.

I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. I am not kin to this writer. I am a reader and this is just my opinion, nothing more, nothing less.

A Very Married Christmas Loveless and Dunn Series Book 4 edition by Erika Marks Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I haven't read a Tule book yet that I didn't like very much. I snap them up as soon as they come out.
I enjoyed this book so much! This was my first read by this author and I will definitely read more of her books.
This story was so romantic and believable. It made me just want to pack up and move to Magnolia Bay!
A second chance at love and a warm holiday read! Perfect!
This is book 4 in this series. I like these books. They are well written and the stories are all different.
I read this in one sitting, and loved every distracting minute of it. Marks writes characters who are not only entertaining, but are also appealingly real. From the very beginning I was rooting for Marley and Beck to get their Holiday Happy Ever After.
AOK. Haven't had time to read it yet.
Beck and Marley are both back in Magnolia Bay for their friends' wedding over Christmas. Only problem is Beck and Marley are married - and separated on the way to divorce. Add one meddling friend, Gina, and things certainly get interesting.
I enjoyed this story. I loved how Marley dealt with her feelings, and her jealousy over seeing Beck with a hot young date for the wedding. I really loved how being back in his hometown led Beck to reconsider his choices in life and figure out what he really wanted to do to be happy.
Great story about second chances and figuring out if it's too late to fix the past.
Back in Magnolia Bay for her friend's wedding, cookbook author Marley Chambers has mixed emotions. Coming home brings back all sorts of memories, and not all of them are good. Marley is not looking forward to seeing her soon-to-be ex-husband, baseball's golden boy, Beckett 'Beck' Chambers. In the midst of less-than-amicable divorce proceedings, seeing Beck and his sexy twenty-something newscaster girlfriend leaves Marley feeling like three is definitely a crowd, and wishing she was anywhere but Magnolia Bay.

As a fan of second-chance love stories AND a majorly huge fan of Christmas, I really enjoyed A VERY MARRIED CHRISTMAS. I'd already met and fallen in love with Magnolia Bay, so it felt a little bit like visiting an old friend. And, even though I haven't dealt with divorce in my own life, I could totally relate to Marley, who had put her own creative energies on the back burner to support her husband's dreams. Beck comes across as somewhat of a selfish guy going through some mid-life issues at first, but when fate, in the person of Marley's friend Gina, forces him and Marley to spend Christmas Eve together, the two reconnect, and the man that Marley fell in love with makes a comeback.

A VERY MARRIED CHRISTMAS is part of the Southern Born Christmas series, and I very happily recommend it as an addition to any holiday romance list. Because, really, what better way to usher in this holiday season than with a second chance at love in the Beautiful South?
